Polar bear is chasing us away | 16 August 2025 |
| Together with students from UNIS, I am doing vegetation assessments on the breeding island Storholmen for the third day. Our guards discover a polar bear with two cubs, which is swimming to the island. The picture shows the three heads just above the waterline. We pack our stuff and gather on the top of the central hill, furthest away from the coast. |

Only the mother climbs up on the coast. We decided to make a lot of noise, hoping that the bear will leave. Click on the video up from this text to hear us. |
