waiting for falling ice |
4 August 2024 |
Here we are in our boat in front of the Blomstrandglacier. Hoping for some ice to fall. This glacier is very active. Since my first visit in 1990, it has retreated over 3000 meter, proving that Blomstrand is not a peninsula but an island. This glacier is the most famous one about glacier retreat, with iconic picture from Greenpeace. You never know when ice will fall. Yesterday there were some very hard sounds while we worked on islands closeby. Since the retret, 4 new islands have been formed, which were under the ice. So now we wait? | |
And we wait.... | |
Don't forget to move your pointer with your mouse (left button clicked), so you can change your view in any direction. You can look at the people, but also have a view with the glacier front. |
