|Jesse Jorna is studying insects as part of his master thesis at the University of Groningen. We have already collected a series since 2007. This year he is also introducing yellow glue-paper and soil temperature measurements. On the picture below, you can see the set-up. In the middle a net, where insects fly against and than they drop into a soap solution and drown. To the right, a blue tape sticks out, which holds a temperaturelogger at minus 8 cm depth and at the surface.
With the yellow paper, we are monitoring the cruise height of the insects. Sofar not that much difference, but it has been very little windspeed.|
