I am currently working on a project concerning the efficiency of ballast-water biocides in Arctic water temperatures during summer time. My staying in Ny-Alesund gives me the opportunity to test biocides on local plankton communities that grow in the Arctic waters. Besides the Ballast-water project I am assisting Ariadna Szcybelkski with her PHD-research that is concerned with the development of a bio-indicator system to evaluate gas and oil activities impact assesment in the Arctic region.
